What this policy covers

This policy covers donsautotruck.com, the website of Don’s Auto & Truck in Des Moines, Iowa. It does not cover anything that happens in person at our counters, or on third party websites we link to.

Information we collect

This site does not ask you to create an account, and it has no contact form, checkout or newsletter signup. We do not collect names, addresses or payment details through this website.

Like almost all websites, our web server records standard technical information each time a page is requested, such as the IP address, the browser and operating system, the page requested and the time. This is kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

The site itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress, the software the site runs on, may set a cookie if a site administrator logs in to the admin area. That cookie is not set for ordinary visitors.

Embedded content

The contact page embeds a Google map. When that map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, exactly as if you had visited Google Maps directly. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that. If you would rather not load it, you can use the plain text addresses and directions links instead.

Links to Facebook and to third party sites are ordinary links. We have no control over what those sites collect once you leave ours.

Contacting us by phone

If you call us about a part or a vehicle, we use what you tell us only to answer that enquiry. We do not sell or share it.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can choose not to load the embedded map. Neither will stop you using the rest of the site.
